Bush Speech

I was a little disappointed with President Bush’s speech tonight, primarily because he really didn’t say anything new. Maybe it’s just me, but it seemed to be more of a “placate the Middle Eastern detractors” speech than anything. Nothing really bad, just not one of his best.

I did like this line though:

Iraqis will write their own history and find their own way.

I just hope it will be the right Iraqis doing the writing…

I thought it to be aimed more at the domestic detractors… 😉

    JC,

That element was probably there as well. I just noticed that among all the world terror incidents he mentioned from the last few years, the Israeli homicide bombings weren’t mentioned.

Also, the President’s reiteration that this is “no religion” that is committing the acts of terror seems to aimed more at a foreign audience.

The scary thing is that the difference between the President’s foreign and domestic detractors isn’t all that great!
