Dan Rather wants to be the first to break the story that the Bush National Guard documents are forged:
“If the documents are not what we were led to believe, I’d like to break that story,” Rather said in an interview last night. “Any time I’m wrong, I want to be right out front and say, ‘Folks, this is what went wrong and how it went wrong.’ “
Heh heh.
That’s part of the problem, isn’t it — that these reporters want to be the first to get whatever it is, so they just blurt out whatever they find without taking time to find out what it is that they think they have.
Having said that, another problem with these guys is that all they want to report on is scandal, process, accusations, allegations — nothing about substance. Imagine if the MSM were to report on the real issues of the campaign — about their economic plans, about their health care plans, about their plans for really honoring veterans by taking care of their needs after they’ve served.
It’ll never happen. The MSM-mongers have jobs, have health care, and an abiding love of tearing down anybody for any reason.
