And The Nominee Is…

. . . Harriet Miers. Not wanting to play partisan politics, President Bush has selected a nominee that makes both sides uneasy. I hope that she’ll turn out to be as convincing as Justice Roberts appears to be, but I’m surprised that the president didn’t go for someone with a more proven originalist record time. If John Roberts was a stealth candidate, then Harriet Myers is a virtual ghost.
