Lofton is pure class. I hold my office hours in a building on campus where he happens to drop by on occasion. The staff there always recognize him, of course, and go out of their way to call attention to him–”Chris! Awesome game! How high you think you’ll go in the NBA draft???”
He always smiles and nods, but hurries up to get away from all the hubbub. Very polite, though–holds doors for ladies, offers his seat to others if it gets crowded. I’ve met a ton of UT’s star athletes over the years, but none more genuine and gracious and self-effacing than Chris.
