Some may think this “cheesy,” but Thanksgiving is a time for cheese and plethora of other wonderful foods, so I will go ahead and list a few things for which I am thankful. I am thankful:
- …that I have a wonderful, beautiful wife who forces me to have fun once
in a while - …that I have food to eat everyday
- …for pumpkin pie
- …that I have a roof over my head (even though the ceiling could use some
work…) - …for all my family
- …for the privilege of studying at an incredible seminary
- …that I have a job which is actually pretty fun sometimes
- …for pumpkin pie
- …that I have been cleansed from all my sins because Christ bore
the punishment that I deserved - …that I can read
- …that the Vols no longer have to play against Steve Spurrier
- …that I have known all my grandparents
- …for a President who makes decisions upon principle rather than polls
- …that you are still reading this list
- …that I have a car that works (most of the time)
- …for my church, who, though they are not a perfect people, they are God’s
people being perfected, and they love in the same manner - …and finally, of course, pumpkin pie!
Happy Thanksgiving! What are you thankful for?
I am thankful for 3 of the most wonderful sons and 3 of the most wonderful daughter-in-laws. They keep a smile on my face!
I have pumpkin pies in the oven right now. With plenty of Cool Whip to go on them.
Pecan pie is really my favorite, but I like pumpkin pie too.
I am brought to tears of joy for matters of faith and family. I am thankful for the grace that was provided to me through the sacrificial death and resurrection of my Savior. I am thankful, too, when others come to know Him.
I am thankful for a loving wife who shares my faith and for three exemplary sons and daughter-in-laws who share the walk. I am thankful for a job which allowed me to be home with them much of the time during their growing years and allowed their mother to be with them and nurture them all of the time. I am thankful for my health and their health as well. I am thankful for loving parents and a loving sister and brother. It goes on and on… Needless to say I will be blessed even further when grandchildren enter the picture.
Did I mention that I like pecan pie?
