A friend lent us the DVD set of the HBO miniseries, Band of Brothers, based on the Stephen Ambrose book by the same name. We just finished with the 10th and final episode this weekend. Excellent stuff—if you liked Saving Private Ryan, you’ll love it. It makes one really appreciate what our soldiers go through.
I realize that all the true military history buffs have long since seen Band of Brothers, but I write this for the benefit of those like me who’ve been otherwise occupied until now. The funny thing is that watching this series is essentially a survey in leadership styles—better than you can find in most books in the expansive leadership section of your bookstore.
Hey I saw Band of Brothers over Christmas Vacation. At that time, I thought I was probably the last person on earth to see it.
If you’re interested, I loved it and wrote about it here:

There’s a lot of good stuff in the series.
