If you’re an American, and you’re still undecided, today is Groundhog Day. Come out of your hole for a bit and see whether or not you see your shadow. There are sixty days left—look to the left and find flip-flops and floundering. Look to the right, and you’ll see a plan, a proven record, and protection from those who would wish us harm.
I thought the President’s speech tonight stood in stark contrast to Sen. Kerry’s acceptance speech. Kerry spoke about himself, how heroic he was in Vietnam, and how we had lost respect in the world. President Bush spoke about America, where we had been, what we have accomplished, and what we can do. Ninety percent of the speech sounded more like a State of the Union address than a political stumper.
The President put forth what the Kerry campaign has lacked thus far: a plan. It will be interesting to see if the Kerry camp continues to focus on Vietnam and Bush–hatred as staples of their platform.
Though I thought it a bit too long, Bush’s speech tonight was among his best. What he did tonight was make clear the differences in the two candidates. Bush’s genuineness shone with its usual brilliance.
In the tech world, there’s a term called “WYSIWYG.” It means “what you see is what you get.” Take a look around, ye undecided voter. What do you see? The choice is clear.
Don’t rush me.
